WHAT IS TRANSFORMERS AND HOW DIFFER MAIN TRANSFORMERS FROM AUTO TRANSFORMERS?

Transformers mg Transformers are devices that, based on Faraday's law of induction, are able to increase or decrease voltage values.  The transformers are built with two windings of wires, called primary and secondary.  These windings always have different numbers of turns and are then twisted around the edge of an iron core, without any contact between them.  The input and output voltage are proportional to the number of turns in each coil.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRANSFORMER AND AUTO TRANSFORMER

TRANSFORMERS - The primary and secondary are made up of independent coils having only a magnetic coupling between primary and secondary, providing greater security to the equipment;  They are larger and heavier, resulting in a higher cost of production and marketing;  - They can have variations of connections in the primary and secondary allowing a variety of connections for use;  PRIMARY SECONDARY NUCLEUS

AUTO TRANSFORMERS - The primary and secondary are made up of a single coil, the secondary being a derivation of the primary, which can cause the primary voltage to cause damage to the secondary in the event of a short;   They are usually star-linked and neutral is common to both sides with limited applications;  - By spending less materials for its construction, they are purchased with lower prices.
